MANGROVE PLANTING
A MANGROVE PLANTING EXCURSION ORGANIZED BY THE MAMIKO SCHOOL IN DJANGOA
Mangroves are very important for coastal communities such as those we collaborate with in North Madagascar. The mangrove eco-system provides habitat to several species preserving biodiversity. At the same time, mangroves provide essential food and economic resources (such as crabs) and protect the coastal population from the effects of cyclones.

As part of our environment protection program, we encourage schools not only to teach about mangroves' benefits for the people and the environment and how to protect them, but also to put theory into practice by organising mangrove planting excursions with the students!
