A SCHOOL CANTEEN FOR THE SAINT LAURENT SCHOOL IN BEANDRAREZONA
A school canteen for a very poor community. In 2021 Boky Mamiko financed the construction of a covered terrace used as a school canteen and recreational space for the Saint Laurent school, a school that hosts about 330 students from pre-school to secondary school, located in Beandrarezona, a remote village in a mountainous region of North Madagascar.
The school canteen allows about fifty children to eat at school especially during the rainy period (from January to March). In this period, in fact, many children live alone as their parents spend days by the fields they work on, being unable to travel due to the abundant rains that reduce the paths to mud. As a result, many children only eat once a day and do not go to school regularly. The presence of a school canteen therefore promotes both the health and learning of many children in Beandrarezona.
