The Boky Mamiko Association is founded officially.
Geneviève visits us in Zurich to meet the Boky Mamiko team and work together on the project.

The first Boky Mamiko fundraiser party for families is a big success: we raised more than 5000 CHF (net of costs) for the project!

OCTOBER 2017
During a holiday with her family in the island of Nosy Be, Madagascar, Rossana gets to know Geneviève. They discover to share the same passion for development, Geneviève having founded a primary school in her native village of Djangoa, and Rossana being a lecturer and researcher in poverty and development issues. They decide to do something together and the idea of a library for École Mamiko is born!

The Lycée Français de Zurich organizes a collection of books to be donated to the Boky Mamiko library project. In total more than 600 books!
The Boky Mamiko team presents the library project to the students of the Lycée Français de Zurich.

Historical moment! Sarah and Dominic arrive in Djangoa and meet the students and teachers of École Mamiko.
Our pioneers, Sarah and Dominic, arrive in Nosy Be, Madagascar, with the first 64 kilos of books!
The Boky Mamiko library is set up and opens its doors to the students of École Mamiko and to the villagers of Djangoa.

Boky Mamiko team #1 sets up the library routine with Storya, our local librarian, reading stories every day to the children of École Mamiko.
Boky Mamiko team #2 takes over the library and sets up a Summer Camp during the school summer holidays for all the children of Djangoa.

The European summer is over, our volunteers are back, but the Boky Mamiko library keeps running thanks to our librarian Storya!

The Boky Mamiko senior team visits École Mamiko, and our Educational Director, Felicia Sexsmith, gives an interactive reading class to 3 grades, as a teachers' training crash course.
Ms. Céline Trimaille, a kindergarten teacher of the Lycée Français de Zurich, spends a week in Djangoa working with the teachers on creative learning methods and education materials.
