march 17th-19th 2018: tropical storm eliakim hits madagascar

On March, 17th-19th 2018 tropical cyclone Eliakim hit Madagascar with strong winds and torrential rain. The heavy rains combined with the tidal surge caused the Djangoa river to flood, destroying most of the houses in the village of Djangoa.

Homeless families moved to their relatives who still have a house, and some took refuge in École Mamiko. Knee-high water and mud entered in all houses, damaging the few belongings of people.
